The Value of Art and Artists in Society
It’s happened on my Artist path that I’ve had wounding around my work, coming from tactlessly delivered feedback about “not working” (when making art is in fact work), or harsh criticism… So as a cathartic experience, I’m writing today on my blog about the work of Artists and The Value of Art and Artists in Society.
The Value of Art
There are many ways in which Art Creates Value in Society. For the sake of brevity, I’ll pinpoint just 3 of them, which are just as important as all those other ways in which Art Creates Value in Society:
1. Art Heals. Art is Healing. Our Inner Self Heals Through Creative and Artistic Acts, And so does the Outer World as a consequence.
2. Art Inspires. Art is Inspiring. Think of how many times you came into contact with Art, and it has Inspired you to Create Further.
3. Art helps Humanity Evolve. Art is Evolution. Evolution of the individual(s) who create it, and the individual(s) who come into contact with it. Take Jules Verne’s literary creations for example, which paved the way from imagination to scientific and practical implementation of amazing inventions.
Artists Create Value in Society Despite Obstacles and Struggles
Artists Create, that is what Artists do. Often in spite of:
- harsh criticism and discouragement (for example, the wounding that had me writing this article)
- financial struggles (a famous example, Vincent Van Gogh)
- rejection, persecution, etc.
How would Life be without Art?
To better look into the Value of Art and Artists, let’s just consider some questions, such as:
How would your Life be without your favorite Books? Without your favorite pieces of Music? Without your favorite Paintings that brought you joy and inspiration? Or without your favorite Movies that took you on a journey of human exploration in the comfort of your home or cinema chair? Without your favorite most creatively designed clothes? Etc.
How would Life be without Art? Without Artists doing Their Work?
When we answer these questions sincerely, we see the Value of Art and Artists in Society, and we start appreciating them more and more.
Much Love,
