Limited Edition Art Prints FAQ

Production

What options do you offer for Prints?

Depending on the image you would like a print of, we have different options, as you can see from the drop-down menus “Size” and “Material”.
You can choose to have your Print delivered either on special art paper (Budget Art Paper 180gsm, Enhanced Matte Art 200 gsm, Smooth Art Paper 240gsm, and Museum Fine Art Paper 280gsm). Depending on the painting you choose, the are two sizes available: 4 x 6″ (10 x 15cm) and (21 x 29.7cm) (A4) for portrait or landscape paintings, or 6 x 6″ (15 x 15cm) and 8 x 8″ (20 x 20cm) for square paintings.
We also offer the possibility to have your Print created on canvas, and the size for it is 8 x 10″ (203×254 mm) or 8 x 12″ (20×30 cm) for portrait or landscape paintings.

How are the Prints produced?

All of our limited edition art prints are manufactured in professional art laboratories, through the means of a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process called Giclée printing. This process creates the highest quality fine art reproductions and offers extra-fine image resolution, helping retain a higher degree of detail from the original fine art.

How long do the Prints last?

A lot of research and development has gone into the various aspects and materials that make up a Giclée print. The archival nature of the print varies according to the type of inks used, as well as the archival properties of your chosen paper selected and the conditions in which the print is displayed or stored. Current scientific lab reports suggested that our recommended papers and Giclée printing process will produce a print that lasts between 100-200 years in optimal conditions.
Please note any print located in direct sunlight is still likely to fade over time.

Prints are listed in cm and inches – what will be the size of my print?

We produce prints in both metric (centimetres) and imperial (inches) sizes. The sizing system being used depends on the product type and the country in which your order is being produced (for example, inches for USA and cm for EU).
In most cases there are only a few millimeters difference between the metric and imperial conversions.
The reason we make this distinction is so that products are sized in the measuring systems local customers are most familiar with. For rolled prints, this also means that local shops and picture frames will fit the products being produced locally.

What is the colour management process?

One of the most important aspects of our printing process is colour management.
Colour management involves the constant calibration of our printers, monitors, scanners and software to ensure the colour of the prints precisely matches the previews you get from the website. It’s painstaking but vitally important work.

How are the Canvas Prints made?

Canvases are printed on specialist canvas material using our 12-colour Giclée printing process. This material is then stretched over a handmade wooden canvas frame (made from four separate parts called canvas stretcher bars).
The canvas corners are folded tightly over each edge and then the material is fixed with staples to the canvas stretcher bar frame. Tape is then used to cover all staples, ensuring a smooth, neat finish.

What are the size of the mounts (mats) for framed Prints?

The framed art prints have a 1” mount.

What does the mount size refer to?

This is the depth of the card from which the mount is cut.

Does the size listed for frames refer to the overall size?

No, the size listed for frames is based on the size of the glaze and does not include the width of the frame.

Shipping & Delivery

What is the difference between the shipping options?

The different shipping options depend on the delivery times: the price increases with the speed of the delivery.

Why hasn’t my order been delivered yet?

Standard production and delivery times are 1-3 weeks from the point of order.
Factors which could delay delivery times include:
– Mistyped or incorrectly formatted address
– Customs and import restrictions
– Failed delivery attempts (i.e. no one home to receive the order)
– Postal strikes
– Other adverse conditions (such as storms and natural disasters)
If there is a protracted delay with your order then our customer support team will typically deal with this proactively.
Occasionally, orders do get lost in the mail – more often, when being shipped untracked to less common shipping destinations. In the event that an order is not received within 30 days of ordering, we’ll be more than happy to send a replacement. Please note however that we cannot offer free replacements for orders not received due to an incorrect address.
If an order is outside the expected delivery window with more than 30 days of ordering, then please contact support@almalewtom.com and we will look into it as soon as possible.

What happens if I’ve mistyped my address and set a wrong address by mistake?

As stated in our terms of purchase, you are responsible for checking the accuracy of the information necessary for us to process your order.
If your address is incorrect, the delivery service will usually send the package back to us. If the package is returned to us, then we’ll contact you and clarify your address before reshipping at your cost.
However, packages are not always returned. In this case, you will have to make another order of the product.

What happens if a product is damaged in transit?

As stated in our terms of purchase, you are responsible for inspecting the packaging and the Products, and to inform us via e-mail of any noticeable damage within 24 hours of the courier’s delivery receipt, including photographic evidence of the faulty or defective Products. Failure to do so confirms your acceptance of the order in good condition.
If the goods are damaged and you inform us within 24 hours including the photographic evidence, we will look into it as soon as possible and we’ll then gladly send a free replacement.
