LET PEACE RING: Open Letter for Peace
Nothing can erase what happened. Nothing can undo what has been done. Nothing can make up for the horrors of war that have been plaguing Humanity for so long. Nothing at all. What kind of compensation can ever touch that pain?
I stand here before you today as a mother with a young child, residing close to the border with Ukraine. On the 24th of September 2026, an Air-Raid Warning woke me and my Son up at 6.30 AM. This is was the second alert the Northern part of Romania collectively received in a timeframe of only 2 weeks.
I also stand here before you as a Human who understands deeply the mechanics of individual and generational trauma. The Dynamics of Trauma after Trauma after Trauma. I’m here today to acknowledge our unhealed historical wounds. I know the kind of pain we’ve been carrying doesn’t heal overnight. It takes tremendous inner work to truly forgive and to reach the place of wholeness that seems to be taken away from us after part-taking in violence and consequently, Soul Loss.
A Course in Miracles teaches in Chapter 23, The War Against Yourself, that “Conflict must be between two forces. It cannot exist between one power and nothingness. There is nothing you could attack that is not part of you. And by attacking it you make two illusions of yourself, in conflict with each other. And this occurs whenever you look on anything that God created with anything but love. Conflict is fearful, for it is the birth of fear. Yet what is born of nothing cannot win reality through battle. Why would you fill your world with conflicts with yourself? Let all this madness be undone for you, and turn in peace to the remembrance of God, still shining in your quiet mind.” (T-23.I.8:1-9)
Here, where I reside in Romania, close to border with Ukraine, we are affected by the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine: psychologically, emotionally and economically. And We Pray every day we are not violently affected, as well. The fact that oil refineries are systematically bombarded, coupled with the Wars in the Middle East, has led to increase after increase after increase in fuel prices, which has destabilized the whole economy. Most of us are living under immense stress and pressure, especially if we are also responsible for little children’s lives.
From what I have discovered doing the necessary research for this Open Letter for Peace, These Wars Against Ourselves have very deep historical roots. One might even state that there has been an uninterrupted thread of conflict since World War I, because most major conflicts ended with incomplete settlements, unresolved grievances, and power vacuums rather than genuine reconciliation. The only thing is, the weaponry has become far more dangerous than we can even fathom. Tens of thousands of active nuclear warheads?
I’m here to tell The World that There is Another Way. There is Another Way than to wage an endless war that brings only “useless massacres” and neverending trauma, stress, grief, and existential dread and outrage to the Civil Societies affected by the Horrors of War.
I’m here to tell The World that There is Another Way to co-exist on our shared Home: the Beautiful Planet we call Earth. We just have to be willing to change course and start walking this other Path instead:
The Path of Miracles.
It’s clear to me now that the problem of the Wars currently taking place on Earth is complex. The roots run deep, the symptoms are overwhelming, and the mechanics already set in place are truly difficult to be instantly stopped.
There are solutions to these endless generational cycles of suffering. There are ways we can stop feeding this uninterrupted loop where Peace is merely a pause between wars.
Right now, on the basis of the thorough research I have conducted in the process of writing this communication, the ideal solution is a heavily fortified, internationally monitored structural standoff paired with binding security guarantees and multi-track diplomacy, anchored by a civil society that repeatedly chooses reconciliation over grievance.
Since the actual steps for ensuring Peace is attained are too complex and the length of this Letter would therefore exceed the size I intend for it, please find an attached Annex providing actionable multilateral frameworks, as well as structured and realistic pathways to action.
According to the United Nations Charter, The Purposes of the United Nations are, among others, “To maintain international peace and security, and to that end: to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace, and to bring about by peaceful means, and in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations which might lead to a breach of the peace” (Chapter I, Article 1).
We therefore call upon the heads of governing institutions to return to the foundational mandate of the UN Charter and to “save succeeding generations from the scourge of war” by maintaining international peace through peaceful settlement and diplomacy, rather than armed escalation.

[…] Upon your [actions] will depend the peace and joy of innumerable families, the lives of thousands of young people, the very happiness of the peoples, which you have the absolute duty to secure. May the Lord inspire you in decisions which conform to His most Holy Will, and ensure that you, deserving the applause of the current age, will equally ensure that in future generations you will bear the name of peacemakers.” – Pope Benedict XV
In closing, I’m reminding All to “Remember your humanity and forget all the rest”, so that We May Let Peace Ring!
